God
has provided a Music Minister for Dewey Fellowship and we are so thankful!
Before we moved here, while we were visiting a local church that we love, we
met Elliott and he told me that God had called him to be a Music Minister. His
pastor agreed and his church home sent him as a missionary to a new church
plant. What a HUGE answer to prayer!
We
are so thankful that God called Alice to Youth/College ministry at Dewey
Fellowship, but we got here with just
the six of us (including our kids) and knew only a handful people: 75% of whom
are local pastors! But obviously that did not stop God and He knew who He had
in mind! Elliott and his wife, Katrina, are an important part of Dewey
Fellowship and make it so much better. Jamie and I praise God nearly every
time we think of them or we are moved to tears in worship; we are so thankful
for God calling them to Dewey Fellowship! We meet on the patio of our home, we
don’t have a band, we certainly don’t have stage lights, etc., but we have
Spirit-led, prayerful worship to the One True God.
Support Raising
God
has provided 100% support for us for a long time: we praise God and thank you!
But as we changed roles from Collegiate Ministry to Church Planting, we do not
receive the benefits that Christian Challenge provided. We have to raise $600 more dollars a month to provide for our
health care alternative and retirement. Please consider beginning (those who
don’t already) monthly support or providing us with a name/address of friends
who have a heart for church planting. If you are in the Valley or Northern AZ
and would consider hosting a dinner or dessert for us to share our ten minute
Ministry Presentation with your friends, we would appreciate it (and cover the
cost of food).
Ministry in the Community!
We were so thankful to be involved in Dewey’s Agua
Fria Parade and serve free snow cones at a booth! What a great church to have
so many volunteers come out to serve! We got to meet a bunch of people and pass
out fliers.
We were also excited to get to serve free Cotton Candy at our local public school! We were covered from head to toe in Sugar Floss, but the children’s eye LIT up when we passed them their cotton candy, making it worth it! We met so many people and I think that many of the children had never had fresh cotton candy. MANY teachers and PTO members thanked us over and over for the backpacks (thank you, Corona Baptist Church) and for the cotton candy. We are excited for this relationship with Humboldt Elementary.

Powers Update
We are all
LOVING Dewey! We are seeing that when we are in His Will and answer His call,
He blesses us beyond what we could imagine. The boys love their new school and
love all of the lakes, parks, etc. around here that we go to. They LOVE their
church and the new friends that God has brought to Dewey Fellowship. We praise God for changing our hearts to the country life and giving us the desire for that life before calling us to “Arizona’s Country Town!”
How God Used You;
We could not do this ministry without our
team:
- There is now a
church for young families in a city where there was not a church that was
reaching them
- Great worship
community
- People who
have not gone to church in years are now coming to worship Jesus
Thank You for Your Prayers!
Please pray…
- That we will be able to learn the Northern Arizona culture.
- New leadership and more Harvesters
- Hallams serving in Alaska
- Alice as she raises support to be the youth and college director.
- Update from last time: Now Praise: Our worship minister!
- Someone to help with children
- Us to train our boys up in a Godly way.
- Our support
- More salvations
How can we pray for you?
How are my donations used in supporting a local missionary?
- You are creating a position in ministry that would
not be there without you.
- You become part of a team that reaches young
families for Christ who are not being reached in their town.
-
You are helping start a church
that will plant more churches.
What type of donations are the most helpful?
-
A regular monthly donation helps
provide a consistent salary for this huge ministry task.
-
One prompted by God. He is the
Provider, and He does so through His people.
-
One which you want to see make a
difference all over Arizona.
